E for Effective
A good email marketing strategy can lead to major success. It’s possible for email to look good AND be extremely effective.
To get started, look into your customer database. Is your list “legal?” Have they double-opted in? How will you deal with opt-outs (note: this can be an automated process)? The implications are an important consideration (see The Can Spam Act). Also important–is your email content relevant and worthwhile? Have you properly segmented your target audiences to blast the most effective message? Have you included valuable offers or incentives to act?
The true value of an email campaign (done right) is in measuring the results. It’s possible to track who viewed the email (and how many times), who clicked through to a webpage, and even who forwarded the email to a friend. As an investment, the return is easy to see.
